Lashes are everything. In honor of our lovely fringe, we're sharing some fun lash facts. These educational tidbits will not only help you take better care of your lashes, but they're great party ice-breakers, too.
Here are four lash facts that if you didn't know before, now you do. : )
1. Lash Shedding Cycle is 2 to 5 Lashes a day, per eye
Each eye naturally sheds 2 to 5 lashes a day. On average, we lose at least 3 lashes a day per eye. That equates to:
- 1 week = 21 lashes lost.
- 2 weeks = 42 lashes lost.
- 3 weeks = 63 lashes lost.
That's why we recommend that our clients get lash fills every 3 weeks to keep their fringe looking full and fresh.
2. Volume Fans Are Made up of 3-6 Individual Lashes
Sure, the finished look is lush and voluminous. But did you know that a Volume lash consists of 3-6 individual lashes that create a fan that's applied to one natural lash.
Yes, these tiny fans pack quite the oomph.
3. Brushing Your Lashes is a Necessity
Brush hair, brush teeth, brush lashes... Yes, part of lash maintenance is brushing your lashes.
Naturally, your lashes will get wet during showers, swimming, and from cleansing them. (And make sure you're keeping your lashes clean because Amy will call you out.)
When wet, your lash extensions will potentially stick together. But by brushing them, you'll separate the lashes and restore definition, plus help them last longer.
4. Lash Lifts Can Work Magic, Too
For ladies looking for a lift, but not false fringe, a lash lift can work magic, too. A lash lift is a semi-permanent lifting of the lashes. Keratin is applied to lift the lashes, making the lashes appear full and curvy without the need for mascara or a lash curler.
Here's a before-and-after of a client who had a lash lift by Senior Artist Heather. Simply gorgeous, and for major wow factor, combine your lash lift with lash tint.
