New Year, New Beauty Resolutions 2019

In the blink of an eye, 2018 is almost over. Is it just us, or did this year go by super fast? As we get ready to welcome 2019, there's no better time than now to make new beauty resolutions. After all, experts say it takes 30 days to form a new habit.

Start now, with these four resolutions, and you'll be well on your way to a beautiful and healthy 2019.

1. Start Using a Retinol

This one was on our list last year and it once again tops our list of resolutions. If you didn’t use a retinol in 2018, it’s not too late to start in 2019.

Retinol has many benefits. In addition to being a treatment for acne, it offers several anti-aging properties which help to increase cell turnover, stimulate elastin and collagen production, boost hydration, and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

A favorite of ours is Sorella Apothecary’s All Night Elixir, a powerful retinol that works overnight to repair your skin.

We also recommend A Natural Difference's (A.N.D.) Erase a Line. Its fluid complex of Vitamin A and Glycolic heavy water with Amino Guanidine and Beta Fructan, provides better moisturizing and anti-wrinkling effect. Use every other night.

Not sure which product line is best for your skin? Ask your aesthetician who can recommend the proper skincare regime for your targeted concerns and skin type.

2. Try a New Facial

Perhaps your go-to facial is the La Belle Visage, but you’ve been hearing great things about the Feu et Glace Facial.

Before you schedule your next appointment, check out our Spa Menu and see if there’s another facial you’d like to try.

3. Drink More Water

Pretty much every resolution list includes “drink more water,” and for good reason. Staying hydrated is key to keeping your body (and skin) healthy. Inadequate water intake can make your skin appear dull as well as potentially increase oil production, resulting in breakouts.

To make sure you're getting enough H2O, measure your daily water intake. Use a tumbler or mug like a 20 oz YETI Rambler Tumbler or 32 oz Bubba Water Mugs.

Depending on your dietary needs (and doctor's recommendation), you can use the mugs/tumblers to measure how much water you're consuming. Available in a variety of colors and sizes, they're both insulated to lock in cold.

4. Step Outside of Your Beauty Comfort Zone

And there’s no better time to experiment with your look than the beginning of a brand new year. Perhaps it’s a dramatic haircut or color, or opting for a fresh new makeup look. Maybe it’s getting those fuller lips you’ve always wanted by getting dermal fillers, or fixing those problem areas with botox.

Make it a point to try at least one beauty thing you’ve been wanting to do. When you feel like the best version of yourself, that radiates in everything that you do, setting the tone for a positive and happy new year.
