As we count down the final days of 2017, there's no better time than now to make new beauty resolutions. After all, experts say it takes 30 days to form a new habit.
Start now, with these 5 resolutions, and you'll be well on your way to a beautiful and healthy 2018.
1. Start Using a Retinol
Retinol has many benefits. In addition to being a treatment for acne, it offers several anti-aging properties which help to increase cell turnover, stimulate elastin and collagen production, boost hydration, and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.
We recommend A Natural Difference's (A.N.D.) Erase a Line. It's a fluid complex of Vitamin A and Glycolic heavy water with Amino Guanidine and Beta Fructan, which provides better moisturizing and anti-wrinkling effect. Use every other night.
2. Ditch Tanning for Spray Tan
There is NO SAFE WAY TO TAN. Whether it's the sun's harmful rays, or the tanning bed's bulbs, both damage and age your skin plus increase the risk of melanoma. This year ditch tanning for a SUNLESS SPRAY TAN.
When we want glowy bronzed skin, our go-to for sunless airbrush tanning is Walkin' On Sunshine. They create a natural looking spray tan blended specifically to your skin tone and type. 3. Stay Hydrated
Coffee, juice, soda... we fill up on liquids all day long, often neglecting the most important liquid of all: water. Water aids in bodily functions like digestion, circulation, absorption of nutrients, and excretion of toxins. A lack of water can make the body's organs unbalanced, which affects your largest organ: the skin.
Inadequate water intake can make your skin appear dull and potentially increase oil production, resulting in breakouts.
To make sure you're getting enough H2O, measure your daily water intake. We love the 32 oz Bubba Water Mugs. Depending on your dietary needs (and doctor's recommendation), you can easily measure how much water you're consuming. (4 glasses are the equivalent of a gallon of water.) Available in a variety of colors and sizes, they're insulated to lock cold in plus dishwasher-safe.
4. Switch to Chemical Exfoliant (From a Scrub)
Toss your scrubs and switch to a chemical exfoliant. Scrubs contain abrasive particles (e.g. microbeads, sugar, etc.) to buff away the top layer of dead skin cells. They can be irritating to sensitive or acne-prone skin. Plus the results are minimal.
A CHEMICAL EXFOLIANT not only removes the top layers of dead skin to reveal healthy skin below, but it can also hydrate the skin and help treat acne. Ingredients to look for include AHA, BHA, glycolic acid, and enzymes like pumpkin or papaya. La Belle offers AHA/BHA exfoliation by chemical peel. Clients can also purchase in-person A Natural Difference's Phyto-Pumpkin Enzyme Peel (5%) to use in the comfort of their own home.
5. Break Out of Your Comfort Zone With Lip Color
Lip color has transformative powers. It can make you feel and look more put together. Bright shades can instantly elevate your mood. And bold hues can make you feel more confident and daring. This year take your lip color to the next level by breaking out of your color comfort zone. Don't abandon your nude palette, simply expand it.
Start off by trying a universal bold red lip. For a great red option, check out Top 5 Products to Incorporate Into Your Makeup Wardrobe.
From there, you can make it a point to try a new lip shade at least once a month. To get more bang for your buck, consider getting a lip palette like Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette that will allow you to mix and create multiple colors.
